In addition to major agency partners, the National ESPC coordinates a number existing agency programs that support research and transition on Earth System modeling and prediction. These sub agencies are listed with their respective organizations.
Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) or NOAA Research: Provides the research foundation for understanding the complex systems that support our planet. Working in partnership with other organizational units of NOAA; NOAA Research enables better forecasts, earlier warnings for natural disasters, and a greater understanding of the Earth. Their role is to provide unbiased science to better manage the environment, nationally, and globally.
National Weather Service (NWS): Provide weather, water, and climate data, forecasts and warnings for the protection of life and property and enhancement of the national economy. NWS's vision is to create a Weather-Ready Nation: Society is Prepared for and Responds to Weather-Dependent Events.
